Founded in 1970, Masters Swimming is part of United States Swimming, the governing body for swimming in the United States. Swimmers age 19 and older are welcome to join and participate at whatever level they choose in this "lifetime sport." Masters range in ability from those just learning to swim to former collegiate and Olympic swimmers.

There is a full schedule of local, national, and international swimming events for swimmers interested in competing. Some Masters choose not to compete, but join to enjoy the benefits of coached workouts, exercise of swimming and to meet other active adults.

Each practice will focus on a variety of aspects of competitive swimming. The primary objective will be to improve each swimmer stroke efficiency while increasing their speed and aerobic capacity. Swimmers stroke efficiency will improve through stroke analysis, technique corrections and mastering of stroke corrective drills. Endurance training will increase swimmers aerobic capacity. Speed will improve as swimmers become more efficient in the water and their endurance increases.

Specialized tri-athlete training is available. Tailored workouts towards the specific race that the tri-athlete is preparing for
